How To Judge Technique Effect Questions

Technique questions are not only name recognition. They place techniques inside client goals, tissue status, and contraindication limits.

Article guide

Check three things

Start with the reasoning frame, then use the article and sample item to see how it works.

  • What is the client goal: relaxation, circulation, tissue preparation, or local work
  • Does the tissue and client condition allow the technique
  • Is the question asking about effect, setting, or contraindication
01

Connect technique names to purpose

Effleurage often connects with broad gliding, relaxation, transition, and lubricant application.

Friction may be more local and specific, but it is not suitable for every client condition.

02

Do not choose by familiarity alone

A stem may provide a client goal or limitation and ask for the most appropriate technique.

If acute inflammation, open wound, or clear contraindication exists, a familiar technique may still be inappropriate.
